Taylor is a board certified acupuncturist by the NCCAOM and a licensed acupuncturist by the Louisiana State Medical Board. She completed her acupuncture training in Tucson, AZ and received her Masters of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine. Her treatments incorporate various approaches, namely Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Saam 4-point acupuncture, Japanese Meridian theory and Hara palpation, auricular acupuncture/NADA, scalp acupuncture, and Five Element theory. She has studied Saam extensively with a focus on gynecology and pain management.

She has also studied with Mary Elizabeth Wakefield to incorporate constitutional facial acupuncture for rejuvenating cosmetic treatments. In addition to the single-use, sterile acupuncture needles used in treatments, Taylor uses fire cupping, gua sha, tuina, and herbal formulas or dietary recommendations to further support the goals of the treatment.

Outside of private practice, she has also offered community style acupuncture at the People's Community Acupuncture Clinic (PCAC), started an auricular clinic at the downtown New Orleans DePaul center, and partnered with Trans Income Project (TIP) to offer complimentary monthly acupuncture treatments to their members.

About Five Flowers

Taylor Hurley, L.Ac

Cost and Insurance

Acupuncture appointments are $120 and facial acupuncture appointments are $180. There is a 20% discount offered for cash-paying patients.

We are in network with the VA CCN, but aside from this do not take insurance. Rather, we can offer you a superbill that your insurance company would use to possibly reimburse you for treatment.

What to Expect

Appointments are one-hour long, and may include fire cupping, gua sha, e-stim application, and TDP lamp therapy in addition to your acupuncture needles. Please wear loose-fitting clothing and arrive on-time, having eaten and had water within the last few hours prior your appointment.

Acupuncture is a relaxing, personal experience that uses extremely thin, sterile, single-use needles to ensure as little pain or discomfort as possible. Your practitioner will be available throughout and after the appointment for any questions or concerns that may come up.

For most cases, we recommend weekly or biweekly treatments for 3-5 sessions. From there, your practitioner will determine the next step in treatment.

For reproductive health acupuncture, we recommend a longer course of weekly or biweekly treatment--more like several months. However, every person is different with unique health goals that will require individual treatment plans.

Cancellation Policy

While we understand things out of our control do happen, we ask for at least 24-hours notice for cancelling an appointment. If this is not possible, a 50% charge of the appointment may be applied. For initial appointments, failure to show up or notify the clinic will result in a full charge for the appointment.
